Ok, today suddenly I couldn’t connect to my samba shares at Belfalas (my server), it is a “up & running” system…with Fedora Core 7, quite updated…
looking at log files (/var/log/samba/log.xyzw) …I got this:
[2007/07/26 13:39:21, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(1033) xyzw (10.0.0.77) connect to service gioia initially as user no1 (uid=500, gid=500) (pid 3554) [2007/07/26 13:39:21, 0] lib/util_tdb.c:tdb_log(662) tdb(/var/lib/samba/locking.tdb): expand_file write of 1024 failed (No space left on device) [2007/07/26 13:39:21, 0] lib/util.c:smb_panic(1654) PANIC (pid 3554): Could not store share mode entry [2007/07/26 13:39:21, 0] lib/util.c:log_stack_trace(1758) BACKTRACE: 11 stack frames: #0 smbd(log_stack_trace+0x2d) [0x8023c78d] #1 smbd(smb_panic+0x5d) [0x8023c8bd] #2 smbd [0x801de2e0] #3 smbd(talloc_free+0x1c1) [0x80221531] #4 smbd(open_directory+0x5dc) [0x800aad0c] #5 smbd(reply_ntcreate_and_X+0x1230) [0x80076870] #6 smbd [0x800c1340] #7 smbd(smbd_process+0x836) [0x800c23d6] #8 smbd(main+0xbdd) [0x8030b3dd] #9 /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe0) [0xa29f70] #10 smbd [0x80047a71]
Very useful, isn’t it ???
so I tried to access the X system to watch it…but…I couldn’t login anymore, I got this error code:
“”The greeter application appears to be crashing. Attempting to use a different one.”
After clicking OK, the monitor resolution changes, but nothing happens and the screen keeps on showing the same error…
So, what’s ?????
well looking around, I’ve found that my disk with ” / ” was full…
So after a little clean….I got everything working again… Cool !!!
Just a last thing…the error code from X is sometimes made for an Accessibility Problem…but as you can see..not in this case…
